What this site is
DoUnscrambler is a free reference tool for word games. Give it a set of letters and it returns every valid word you can build from them, scored for Scrabble and Words With Friends, sourced from a consolidated 270,000-word dictionary.
It exists because most unscramblers answer the question badly: they bury the word list behind interstitials, pad the page with generated filler, or fail to tell you which dictionary a word is actually valid in. We show the complete list, in the page, with provenance.
Who maintains it
DoUnscrambler is run by a small independent team of word-game players and engineers. Every guide on this site is written and reviewed in-house by The DoUnscrambler Editorial Team — we do not publish syndicated or AI-spun articles, and we do not accept paid guest posts.

Where the words come from
Our dictionary is compiled from three published, citable word lists — TWL, SOWPODS and ENABLE. We document exactly which edition of each list we use, who maintains it, and when we last refreshed it on the dictionaries and sources page.

How the results are produced
No permutations, no guessing: every lookup is a signature match against a precomputed index. The full algorithm, including how wildcards and sub-anagrams are handled, is written up on the methodology page.
How we are funded
The tools are free and require no account. The site is supported by display advertising only. Advertisers have no influence over word lists, guide content, or which tools we build — see our editorial policy.
Corrections
If a word is missing, mis-scored, or listed in the wrong dictionary, email us with the word and the dictionary you expected it in. Confirmed corrections are applied in the next dictionary refresh and noted on the dictionaries page.
